Summer Reading Challenge Keeps Thousands of Gloucestershire’s Children Reading

We at Friends of Gloucestershire Libraries love to champion and advocate our libraries.  The great work they do is the motivation behind our campaign to look after them after all. So it was exciting to find out that “a third of all primary school children in the county took part in the [Summer Reading] Challenge this year” More than 11,000 children took part in this adventure challenge that was designed to keep them reading over the summer holidays and so keep their literacy levels up to speed. 300,000 books were read by children countywide! Great work Gloucestershire Libraries!
